I went on a Whitsundays sailing trip last weekend. Since I planned to catch a bus to Bundy right after the trip I needed somewhere to store my luggage, those guys let me leave my stuff there (even though I didn't stay there). Then when I got back I asked whether I could possibly have a shower if I paid for it. The nice lady behind the reception said she totally understood my situation and let me use their facilities without having to pay a cent. The showers where clean and the parts I could see of the hostel where clean, too.If I was to go back to Airlie I'd totally stay there for the nights I'm travelling.
Me and my girlfriend originally planned to just stop off for a couple of weeks at in Airlie Beach but we ended up staying 3 months because we loved the hostel and Airlie so much! The staff are really friendly and helpful and are always happy to advise you on what the area has to offer and the best time to do things. They are laid back most of the time but strict with enforcing the rules to ensure the hostel is a nice place to be for everyone. The hostel has the best location of any hostel I’ve stayed in so far. Its only minuets from a huge Woolworths and the main strip of pubs and clubs. The ports which you catch transfers to the Whitsundays are only a 15-minuet walk away too.Overall it’s a great hostel that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at.
OMG what a place patsy and Fiona on the front desk were so helpful we booked in for 2 nights and ended up staying 5,Room was ensuite with balcony very quiet and most important we had air con. Kitchen facilities were also good

Airlie Waterfront Backpackers is one of the best places where I slept.I went there in September with my boyfriend and we had a private room. The hostel is very close to the sea and the room was nice and clean..it was perfect. The guys at the reception are very nice and helpful; they helped us to choose the daily tour to visit Whitehaven beach and it was amazing!! The only problem was that one night there was a fire in the restaurant underlying and we had to leave the room and we stayed all the night long on the road and we could come back in our room just the day after. The hostel is very cheap and it's perfect!! I would suggest it!
We stayed over night in Airlie and we got a private room in this backpackers. The rooms were super clean and had a separate bathroom and fridge. It also had a TV and comfy enough bed, private secure parking which is rare for hostels. Was very good will definitely return.
